Good morning Mel,

I'm sorry I missed your post last night, I turned in just after midnight, but didn't spot the new page

I believe your finger may have slipped, I have it as the Blohm & Voss BV 222 Wiking (the photo is labelled as a V7)

Originally powered by Bramo 323 Fafnir radial engines, later aircraft were powered by six 746 kW (1,000 hp) Jumo 207C inline two-stroke opposed-piston diesel engines. The use of diesels permitted refueling at sea by special re-supply U-boats.

Many thanks Trevor, yes a slip of the digit. A very great and interesting challenge. Looking at the larger photograph of the "mech" hanging on, no safety harnesses in those days also it has always intrigued me that the tools used when working on aircraft on the water had no retaining cords etc (not sure how that could work anyway) you drop your spanner and it is lost for good.

Here is the next one:-

Only a couple of minutes to spare and no time to look, but that tailpipe looks to belong to a BMW 003, or maybe one of its oriental copies!

If that's correct, it'll narrow down the search for the aircraft for someone ; back to work now, seeya
