In the few, short, months I have been a member here, and participating in this thread, RegDep has always been "the one to watch". Such a shame.

RIP, Friend.

I feel we should all put together a collective response message to Anja-Christina.

Ideas/comments etc. to me please via PM or private mail.

If not, I will do it, plus a suitable personal e-card

Very sad news indeed David. There is not a lot one can say at times like this. I for one could not confess to knowing him, other than from our exchanges on SC but he certainly brought his own unique sense of humour and never ending enthusiasm to the thread, and one can only assume he lived his life in a similar way. He will be missed by us all. Our thoughts must also go to his partner Anja-Christina.

Rest in peace Heikki, aka Reg, aka RegDep.

The few words I've heard from Reg have been kind, encouraging, and witty. Rest in peace RegDep.

Oh dear David, that is very sad news!!

I can only echo Ken's comments, he said it all!!

Only this afternoon, when I managed a brief look at the thread, I thought how Reg's input made such a difference and looked forward to his return from this latest break; alas now not to be, I/we really shall miss him greatly!

He was a friendly and knowledgeable participant in this and many other Prune Threads. (I think that you should consider posting your announcement in those too, but I expect you've already thought of that).

RIP Heikki, aka Reg, aka RegDep.

He was the one who guided me in my first attempts here.

Blue skies, Reg...

Good morning all

After the sad loss of Heikki (RegDep) I have been thinking how best we can remember him and his contribution to SC over the years. In a recent PM exchange with him it was clear that he had not lost his enthusiasm for the thread. In light of that, and as a tribute to him, may I propose that we rename Silhouette Challenge II after him. Perhaps just "Heikki's Silhouette Challenge", or "RegDep's Silhouette Challenge"? Not very original but I think it would be a nice gesture that would have meaning to us all. I guess this would need the Moderator's approval, but I would hope in the circumstances they would comply.

Finally, I am sure that Heikki would not want SC to pass away with him, so I believe we should continue.

Thoughts gentlemen?

Ken

Good morning to you Ken.

I concur.

I shall contact the moderators within the next thirty minutes.

Meanwhile, there is still an unsolved challenge.

edit: PPRuNe Pop PM'd.

I shall also, today, send a note of condolence from all on AH&N, in German, to his widow.

My sincere condolences.

Even though I have not participated in this thread for a while, RegDep will be sorely missed.

Into the wild blue yonder.

You are quite right David, and as I said earlier, we should continue with the thread in memory of RegDep.

So everyone, if I may, here is the current challenge:

So far just the one offer, that being the Tipsy S2. It's not, but it was a good guess from RR

The odd cockpit appearance is simply due to the canopies being slid back.

Lightning Mate has asked me if RegDep can be remembered by renaming the thread. I am happy to do that. It will keep his memory alive for as long as the thread is running.

I just logged in and I'm stunned by the sad news. Like many on the thread I didn't know him personally but his personality coloured the strings of chat. He always entered in to the sprit of the thread, had a wit and healthy banter, always being "the one to beat"! Rest in peace, mate.

"RegDep's Silhouette Challenge"
I'd agree with that. Very fitting.

OK, does it have a Gipsy donk up front, Ken?

How very sad.

I have just logged on to add the latest challenges to the list before re-issuing it at the end of the month and was shocked and saddened to learn of Heikki's demise. We corresponded a number of times in respect of the list. It must have been a terrible shock for his partner Anja-Christina. David, please add my condolences to any note of condolence you may send.

Not a Gipsy, but a Renault.
