Vulcan Factory to close ?

Latest news reports today say that Woodford aircraft factory, the birthplace of the Avro Vulcan is to close in 2012.

Who'd of thunk it? I didn't realize they were still in production - or was the factory just making parts for the one's in the museums?

Presumably a reflection on the end of the MRA4 programme?, I imagine that any further work on those aircraft will transfer to Warton?

Then again, the closure is 3 years away - so that's pretty good warning for anybody working there.
