Russian MiG-21
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone may be able to help me. I work for a television production company and we're hoping to film a russian MiG-21 from the Cold War era this coming Friday (17th July).
Other than at the RAF Museum in Cosford, does anyone know where I might be able to find one within the UK?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

When you say Russian, do you mean of Russian design or in Russian markings? The East Midlands one looks like it is in East Germany markings to me, even the Duxford one has something in the middle of the Red Star so not sure if that is Russian (Googled it and it's Hungarian).
I need to get out more, much more

There is a real soviet Mig-21 in good shape at Altenburg airport in Germany. Maybe you just hop on the next Ryanair flight and film that one.

PS: And you will get a former real soviet fighter base for free.

Airborne Artist: Thank you - Midland Air Museum have been very helpful, and they can do Friday for us. Let's just hope the weather is on our side too!
The Swinging Monkey: apparently the one at Duxford isn't safe for us to film - radioactive...or something!?

Hmmm micky taking!
I am not sure why some posters have picked on Danny C. Surely it is just the British way. After all, the RAF is the only air force on the planet which if it wanted a dog, would buy a second hand cat and then spend millions modifying it into a sub standard dog
(we would all then just have to accept a capability holiday with regard to a lack of 'barking' ability.....Maybe we could name the dog Lynxy)

What happened to the MiG-21 which was delivered to RAF Abingdon in around 1990? I recall seeing it land and then taxy around the aerodrome at a far from sedate pace whilst the mate at the helm waved cheerfully at our UAS girls....
