Beddington and Wadden airfields were combined to make Croydon Airport.
If I had to guess which of the two I would say Beddington.

Old Bald Pilot.

Yes !!!

Beddington and Croydon were adjacent aerodromes seperated by Plough Lane. The picture was taken in 1918.

Well we all got there in the end.

You have control.

Clint.

Seen the Light has it. KGIF Winter Haven. I guess my location was also a bit of a giveaway since Auburndale is under the downwind for 04.
Over to you.

Mr Grubby,

Glad we finally got a result on your challenge. Just for the record I named Beddington in post 1815.

Cheers, DH

DH.

I am so sorry. There has been a giant miscarriage of justice.

I don't know how your answer slipped through.

I can only say sorry.

Clint.

Not to worry Clint.

I'm sure I could have missed it, under an avalanche of attempts at your excellent challenge......

Due to my crippling lack of knowledge about how to post pictures, I was going to declare open house, but will hand over to Double Hydco instead as he missed out last time round.

DH, the floor is yours!

Blimey descol, there must be something better to do at 0045 in the wonderful city of Dublin, than wait for my challenge?

STL & Mr_Grubby many thanks. It wasn't necessary, but since you have been so gracious here is an other (probably quite easy) challenge,worth publishing just for the eclectic mix of airliners;

Davidsoffice - No, not Astana! (You're not wrong though, real aircraft!)

WG - Very observant, they are indeed Rombac's.

Bit of a guess based on vaguely familiar lighting pole...and not on the list yet, to my surprise...
