C-54D/MATS/Amber 2 Airway information

I am researching missing aircraft AF 2469 and am having trouble finding information on C-54D MATS flights from Alaska to the Lower 48 on the Amber 2 airway back around 1950 or so. I would really like to talk to anyone who crewed those flights back in the 50's. I have some questions I would also like to ask anyone who maintained C-54Ds for the Air Force. Can anyone here direct me to good sources for this information?
I have questions about feathering motors, winter/over land survival gear contents(I know there was 800lbs of it), as well as where the emergency fields were for the Amber 2 route. Also on my list is info from anyone who actually used a Gibson Girl radio.
Thanks in advance for any help you folks can be...
Matt
