The G-bgd. Pop Cans

I often miss watching & hearing the old BA 732's roar off R23 at MAN, Making my ears pop.

Sometimes I thought any minute now it will be a Big Bang, The 732's were so loud on rollout.

I used to have a beer in the Airport Hotel, And watch them one after the other 'Thunder off R24 as it was then.

That's what you call an Aeroplane I used to say the BA Pig

They worked them hard about 4 trips per day every day.

I would go home with the noise of a P&W JTD ringing in my ears.

I always thought the Airport Hotel was a very civilised means of aeroplane watching. The aroma of part burned AVTUR always improved the quality of their beer! The 1-11s were my idea of music.

Reminds me of been in the Airport Hotel's garden on a hot summers night when a PIA 747-200 was taking off on 06, rotate now that was interesting. Very nearly like the Bristol Cowboy (707 & landing lights).
