Shorts Belfast

HI,

Does anyone have information on who the pilots were on the maiden flight of the Shorts Belfast, i cant seem to find much about the Test phase of the aircraft. I am also looking for any pictures of the roll out/maiden flight/flight test etc

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Neil

According to British Civil Aircraft Volume III: "The first, rolled out 8/10/63 as G-ASKE, was first flown 5/1/64 from Sydenham to Aldergrove as XR362 by D Tayler and P Lowe." Used civil marks for hot and high..." etc.

Can't say I've ever heard of D Tayler, but the section on the Skyvan says he was Short's CTP.

The book 'Belfast -The story of Shorts big lifter' by Molly O'loughlin White is a damn good fascinating read!
