Why would NZ want to become part of Australia?

I don't know, maybe they'd inject a dose of logic into the place along with a more humane policy on immigration, refugees, getting involved in other people's wars, nuclear vessels, etc. Personally, I admire the Kiwis in many respects.

They are a country that is tiny compared to us, with a fraction of the population we have and yet they have the guts to have their own independent foreign policy unlike us - with our gutless politicians, the foreign policy is a case of pointing a finger at the USA and saying "I'm with stupid"... regardless of whether US policy is good for us or not. It sickens me. I wish we were more like NZ.

The proposal has turned into a significant diplomatic incident as AQIS is demanding that all kiwis to be placed in quarantine bins on arrival like other domestic flights in Australia. The contents of these bins are disposed of by incineration.

The NZ government said they have not heard of anything as abhorrent as incinerating Kiwis and the AQIS requirement being the most significant act of international delinquency in Australian international diplomatic history. NZ plans to raise the issue with the Secretary-General of the UN who is a closet Kiwi fan.

But it's OK because NZ won't retaliate like they haven't retaliated on any other "abhorrent" action by the Aussie Gummint!

I thought we were already far more domesticated than Australians anyway.

It's already a common aviation market but bio-security and immigration issues will be the show-stoppers.
So is Bali.

New Zealand is a separate country.

Get over it Alan.

Is this true? And if it is, is it moving back to mainline?

With regards to the Jetconnect aircraft coming back to mainline, does anyone else read the latest email that the aircraft will come "to Australia", but it seems to read that it will continue to be Jetconnect aircraft? Will it continue to be operated by Jetconnect, on Qantas Australian domestic services?

The aircraft will be transferred to the VH register to be operated by mainline

Don't Jetconnect supply Flight Attendants for mainline?

Perhaps that is the plan for pilots.

Given the reported attrition rates for Jetconnect I don't think there'll be a surplus for long.
