Alliance Airlines

Alliance reported late last week for the period from 1 July 15 to 30 June 16.

Apart from an increase of 75% in the share price over the past 12 months they appear to be doing ok and going gang busters compared with Virgin.

Does anyone working for Alliance have anything to add ?. I have heard the F70/100 heavy maintenance will be done in Bratislava.

Apart from an increase of 75% in the share price over the past 12 months they appear to be doing ok and going gang busters BECAUSE OF Virgin.

There's more to the story than just a 75% increase in 12 months, in 2012 the share price was around $2.20 so over a different timeframe the shares being 1/3rd what they were then, with a ~66% drop over 5 years isn't that great...

Still better than Virgin with a float price of $2.25 might have been $2.50 can't remember) and now down to 19 cents.

Awesome management of shareholder value JB!

Bereal

QF closed at $1.64 on 15 Feb 2012, Closed at $3.48 today. Hardly quadrupled; more like 2.12 times over 5 years.

Ps. The closing price on 20 Jan 1999 was also $3.48 so the share price today is now what it was 18 years ago.

Share price is irrelevant in the long term unless you incorporate dividends and share buybacks etc.

Fallen a bit recently but there was a stage where it wasn't far off.

Point being- Virgin and QF graphs look.. well.. different!

QF, they're going from strength to strength and the 78/NEO show isn't even in town yet.

Total return for Qantas for the last 12 months is 106.0%

Total return for Alliance for the last 12 months is 101.0%

Total return for Virgin for the last 12 months is -14.7% (Minus)

Go Alliance, sad about Virgin.

Qantas Share price 23 June 2017 - $5.57
Virgin Share price 23 June 2017 - $0.17
Air New Zealand were smart in getting out as there seems to be a share price trend to the bottom without more equity injections which may not happen.

for the period from 1 July 16 to 30 June 16.
Interesting reporting period.

If it's meant to be June 30, 2017 then they are quick off the mark seeing we're not there yet!!!.
