MEL/CBR Tiger back

Cheap flights to Melbourne return, Tigerair announces daily route

obviously the timings won't be attractive to anyone except leisure & small business traveller who pays own fares.

Hundreds of school want to go to CBR every week for 4 nights Mon-Fri, but many find the fares too high & don't go & flying in & out of SYD is not that cheap when add in time for bus transfers SYD/CBR/SYD.

CBR/BNE could also work.

Idea:

1. Do face painting for kids and tell a few jokes in the pa.
2. One aircraft type for a fleet.
3. Buy stuff on board.

TT will probably take over CBR-OOL when the Ejets fade away.

amazing that JQ haven't responded.

Think you can use Virgin frequent flyer points on TT flights. Noticed TT's timing, will not suit most business types. Funny that.

Hey BNE320 / XPT, Jetstar haven't responded because it is probable a crappy route, only way Jetstar would do it would be if one of the airports was willing to contribute a crap load of money towards the finances.

Jetstars & Tigers market are similar. For QF & VA, all routes ex CBR are very high yield, the highest yielding in the country, which is why Tiger are back there. Plenty of people don't want to pay high QF/VA fares. Tiger will do very well & VA will make sure they don't start flying at times that suits the small business traveller, although there are quite a few conferences/trade shows in CBR these days & small business people don't need lots of flight options for those events.

Can't believe there's no announcement by JQ copying this new TT in some way. With no curfew at CBR or MEL, JQ could surely find 1 aircraft, either very early or very late in the day Mon to Fri & especially Sat pm/Sun am
