AA SYD/LAX/SYD & QF

now that AA is selling SYD/LAX flights & many pax who were booked on QF are now being offered AA flights instead, some % of these pax, might actually prefer AA.

Angel

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. That's a good one.

Oh, you were serious? Obviously spoken by someone who has never flown AA previously!

Now Keg, AA have improved their offering 199% over the old crap coke and peanuts service. Brand spanking new 77W's with excellent interior fit and good service. Probably give QF and my CX a good run for our money.

Not for staff travel thanks

Admittedly from a sample of only 2 sectors on separate trips, but our experience of staff travel on AA was one of lost (and I mean lost!) luggage and the associated total disinterest from AA staff, indifferent service on the jet, a difficult listing system and when our luggage finally turned up, many items missing from the bags that had been opened "to identify the authenticity of the owner" despite being clearly labelled. After insurance claims we were still out of pocket to the tune of $750.

This will be AA's 3rd or 4th start of services to SYD. On the last occasion one of the cabin crew grand mothers on the inaugural was a 72 year old who slept most of the time and did sfa.

On the positive side it is another carrier with a 1 stop SYD-LHR option that avoids the middle east.

the scary thing is QF will be pushing customers onto AA, just like they pushed customers onto EK to Europe.

Even though in alliances, can't be good to put your passengers onto what is effectively, a directly competing airline.

Prefer AA you reckon,

QF A380v AA777, from a passenger perspective in any class, 380 is much quieter, Economy class 380 vs 777 at 10 abreast............380 any day!
Business 380 vs 777 is closer, but as long as you have a centre aisle no need to step over fellow passenger, id go 380, First Class 380 vs 777 also close, again 380 quiteness wins the day for me!
Let alone the average age, and attitude of an American Flight Attendant!!

Virgin are about to start the reconfiguration of their 77W's, the end result is pretty impressive going off the designs.

Maybe, it's just that running down the oppositions product based on their old rubbish might not cut it anymore. AA are spending some serious cash upping their standard. QF ( and CX ) had better watch out.

AA did not operate the B767 to SYD, just the B707 and the DC10-30 I believe.

Any prospective DL pax may be pleased to hear flight attendant Bob Reardon has been retired against his will at 90 years. He was a F/A for 63 years. He was afraid he would die if he stopped working !.

I note that the QF codeshare hasn't yet been loaded into Amadeus for the AA flights.
