Jetstar A330 Singapore Base

Hoping some current Singapore based crews can provide some helpful information. What is the roster pattern like? How many consecutive days off do you average? Is it possible to cummute from Singapore to OZ with the current roster pattern?

Thanks
Maggot

Maggot.

Its "commute" not "cummute". Also in relation to commuting, I presume your question was does anyone commute from Australia to the Sin base.

Answer - no. The patterns / flying do not allow for that. JQ will own you on your days off also, so if you are 'required' for work, you will be 'required' to fly or face disciplinary action. Read your contract if you don't believe me.

The consensus amongst the guys and girls currently based there is that if you have a family, your wife will somehow need to be able to work for the family to just be able to meet basic commitments such as rent, food, utilities ect.

One or two guys I know have second jobs outside of flying to make ends meet.

Also, look very carefully into your personal tax situation. If you were to somehow commute from Aust, its likely you would be liable for Aust tax due to you still being domiciled in Aust.

Zapatas.

Your sir, are a weapons grade idiot.

Hope this all helps.

Zap,

having followed these arguments with disinterest it appears that those not in agreement with the herd are shouted down.
