AirAsia flight skids off runway in Kota Kinabalu

KOTA KINABALU: AirAsia Flight AK106 from Kuala Lumpur skidded off the runway at about 5.10pm during bad weather. Two passengers were injured when the Boeing 737 with about 100 passengers skidded.

A three year-old boy suffered a broken arm while another, who is still unidentified, had minor injuries. The remaining passengers and crew escaped unhurt.

Medical teams at the airport screened them before they were allowed to leave the airport.

One of the passengers, who identified herself as Zilla, said she felt the plane hitting a puddle of water when landing before swerving from the runway to the grass.

She said the aircrew members than advised the 100-odd passengers to exit through the emergency chutes.

"There was panic but no pandemonium," she said when met at the airport.

Danger

These guys have been tempting fate for a while now.

They have had some scary incidents such as forgetting to turn bleeds on and forgetting O2 masks only to be reminded by the flying spanner at about FL170 and climbing.

They white washed the AOR incident as ex D_A involved.

So many incidents have been kept quiet.

Mr F. He just wants low cost low cost low cost and is so greedy he has ripped off all the Tune Air guys that put him there.

Well I reckon these blokes are well over due for a big big mishap.

Wooblah.

MALAYSIA PRESS: AirAsia Plane Skids Off Runway; 3 Hurt

KUALA LUMPUR (Dow Jones)--An AirAsia Bhd. Boeing 737-300 plane skidded off a runway in East Malaysia's Kota Kinabalu airport late Sunday, hurting three people, the New Straits Times daily says.

The accident occurred during heavy rain and resulted in the runway being temporarily closed, the report says.

The accident is key as it may derail AirAsia plane schedules, which are very busy due to the budget carrier's fast turnaround and high utilization strategy. AirAsia last month concluded its initial share offering.

Another report from Malay-language Utusan Malaysia says the plane's front wheel was broken due to the accident.
