Were you purposefully disrespecting a superiour officer by not capitalising his name?

That'll be the Jon Page who was at LATCC(Mil) before Valley?

shrimp42 13th Jun 2009 00:28

Pagey getting his own thread. Oh dear

Doody2007 13th Jun 2009 11:53

Just to confirm. It is the Jon Page who was ex-latcc(military) and ex-valley.

Now working at East Midlands Airport. PM me for details.

Pagey and F15s GHing over the north sea was a fantastic thing to behold. Pagey to Killer 31 flight, "Manoeuvre as required surface to FL400, limited traffic information from all around below FL100 due to the base of radar coverage, unable to provide information on low flying helicopters, large boats and jumping fish as they won't appear on radar, you're responsible for your own terrain separation etc etc." The lad would go on for hours - very good value though! Wahey Pagey - I think it's great that you've got your own Page!:ok:

cottam approach 13th Jun 2009 18:38

Sorry mate I seem to have set you up for some abuse here! I shall resist the urge to spill stories of cricket bats and tacan to 31!

Doody2007 14th Jun 2009 10:44

WWW,

I don't recall ever warning pilots that I wouldn't be able to see large boats on radar!

Flying fish though and the odd sea gull.

:ok:

SilentHandover 14th Jun 2009 12:11

I am so disappointed, all we ever got to see of you at school was sensible Pagey, damn the college and their standard phraseology denying us such gems.

SH

SACrIGGER 14th Jun 2009 15:55

Pagey told me that one day on valley radar a sneaky flight was operating over a certain town in N.Wales, not wanting to give too much away, pagey was heard to say...

Traffic information, an islander maneouvirng various levels, over... erm Wales!

Chilli Monster 14th Jun 2009 17:24

The legend obviously continues. Current favourite phrase used in radar debriefs to his mentor is "well, you're probably right".

;)

whowhenwhy 14th Jun 2009 19:31

Sorry mate, you're right, tiredness and age has dulled my recollection. I remember now, you were warning them that you might actually be able to see the boats and thereby have to spend time telling the F15s about them:E

That'll be the Jon Page featured on page 14 of this Special Souvenir Edition of Valley Wings!

We missed you Pagey, it was never the same without you! :ok:

Pagey & Johnny L, Uxbridge Officers' Mess garage, door closed, trying out NVGs?

cottam approach 16th Jun 2009 16:39

That's just amazing. I completely forgot about 'Barry the Radish'!!!!!! Yeah the AC over North Wales is true, I remember it well. How surreal is this fella; to have your own thread that people continue to write on!

Doody2007 16th Jun 2009 22:16

Oh wonderful.

I was hoping that Barry the Radish would re-surface!!!

Thanks everyone. So great to see that I have had an impact on so many people's lives.

Kind Regards

Pagey - You were a LATCC legend - the Skoda especially - you are exactly what the RAF ATC Branch needed to keep, but didn't (and still don't) know how to. Please don't come back - I wouldn't stand a chance otherwise!!

EGNX are the winners here!
