Gerry Turner
After I failed elsewhere on PPRuNe, PPRuNe Radar suggested that I try in the ATC forum for news of Gerry Turner, who was my nav on Canberras in the 50s. We lost touch during one our many moves, but I was told that after the RAF he went into ATC and may have later emigrated to NZ. If he's still with us he'll be in his mid-80s and any news would be welcome.

I'm sure I heard that name when I was abroad with IAL in the 60s. My watch Supervisor was a Canberra Nav but, unfortunately, I have lost contact with him (Tony Hollins).

Thanks to all of you for the info. Just to make sure it's the same man, I should perhaps add that the Gerry I knew at Binbrook was a Yorkshire lad and his wife's name was Mary.

You could try contacting Civilair which is the ATC union.
[email protected]
Civilair can put you in touch with the Ex Air Traffic Controller Association which may have Gerry’s contact details. Failing that, get back to me. I can try contacting others with whom Gerry and I worked.
