Thanks 1Charlie.
Yes was aware ASSY had implemented Cat I GBAS procedures. Just not sure if they were able to support independent parallel approaches using same NTZ as ILS.

Edit: Ha, showing my age. It was ASSY when I worked in Oz.

A few years ago I worked on a draft amendment to 4444 along with some colleagues from other European states which, among other things, would permit GBAS in independent parallel runway operations.

Probably lost in an office in Montreal somewhere!

Thanks Gonzo,
I might have come across it when searching.
Eurocontrol document to recommend inclusion of GLS to the ILS/MLS SOIR requirements? Around 2010?

This one maybe?

Any idea if it went any further?? I guess you already answered that- into the black hole!

Not able to do independent parallel approaches (yet). It will happen at some point.

AIP ENR 1.1 - 53 para 24.2.2
Independent parallel approaches in IMC require the use of ILS.
GLS cannot be used for independent parallel approaches in IMS.

Thanks sunnySA.
Do you know the reason why not at this stage?

You work in YSSY? Say hi to Mr and Mrs G from HK.

Our posts crossed paths there. Thanks. Any reason known?

bekolblockage,

No, that wasn't it. It was the ICAO Europe COG Independent Parallel Appraoch Operations Task Force, last met in April 2013. It was far more focussed than the Eurocontrol presentation which seems to just identify areas where GBAS should/could be added.

EDDF Frankfurt is a destination that EK have been asked to fly GLS to Autolands for "validation" purposes.
