CPDLC Mandate

Hello everyone,

After February 5th 2015, can air transport aircraft fly into RVSM airspace WITHOUT being CPDLC equipped?

Thanks for your replies.

Cheers

This should steer you in the right direction for all of the legal stuff.

[Edit]
Ahhh, thanks to MarkerInbound for pointing out my rather foolish assumption - I was thinking that any flight would start from Valencia! The date and location would suggest that the European regulations are the ones fdgolf has in mind or has heard about. The link gives a summary of the European situation.

You might want to specify which FIRs. Most of the world is now RVSM.

It depends on the FIR you're flying into, thus you will need to check the AIP or NOTAMs related to CPDLC operation within it.
