Starting salary is based on your experience elsewhere, a compressed sliding scale, however lately I have heard that it is a range, e.g. levels 2-4 that is offered and you don't find out until you are rated what the actual salary is. As I said, this is a what I heard, haven't been able to validate. Rest assured, 6 years experience elsewhere will not equate to level 6 on the ASA scale.
Annual increments would be based on your ASA rating date.
Good luck.

So basically the majority of the applicants with a few years experience will be taking a pay cut? I work out level 4 at just under £70,000 which seems like a decent salary, but anyone who's ever bought a pint in Perth knows it really isn't...

Fair play if they can get the applicants with them T&Cs...

Last I heard (from a year or two ago), those with 15+ years experience would be offered step 8 once validated. Lower during training though. No idea if this is still the case.

Hi,

I was told over the phone 4 weeks ago that I was accepted for Perth Tower and that a 'Formal Offer' would be sent 'shortly'.

I emailed recruitment this week as still nothing and I was told I shold receive it by the 15th Oct for expected Mebourne course date around 19 SEP 2016.

Still ages away but hopefully once the formal offer has been sent i am 'in' and the relocation process can begin.

Good luck to everyone still applying and hopefully see a few of you in Melbourne next year.

Have, my application still says "application under review". I know it is a long process but I'd have thought we would at least have been asked to do the testing.

sr562, from previous posts, it might take within 2 months from application to online test. But regarding to RVL's timeline, we can do nothingh but wait.

Congratulations, RVL!

Deemed Unsuccessful

Hi Guys!

I applied to the international intake last June. Just received a msg that my application was deemed unsuccessful. While I met the minimum requirements according to the letter "other applicants possessed more relevant technical experience for the position". It surprised me quite a lot. I have an approach rating with 5yrs of experience at an international airport with around 100,000 movements a yr. I am an OJTI an ATS expert and an English language assessor. I was sure to at least make it to online testing... Anyone else heard back?

Pointless

Its a pointless exercise for qualified controllers, as long as the ASA recruiting muppets make qualified controllers take the BS On-line test that ab-initos have to take, instead of just looking at ratings and experience, it is a waste of time for an experienced controller

I can't think of anywhere else where you need to complete aptitude tests in order to apply for a job that you already do. It is bizarre & probably puts a lot of potential candidates off applying.

In fact I did, RVL Roll: I was offered a position at Brisbane, with the enroute course starting June 27th at Melbourne. Sadly I had to decline the offer. It looks like Australia is no country for old men, regarding permanent residence visa policy.

Good luck!
