@Harida5a

I think the reason it says that is because high level airspace used to be classified as A (and possibly B for TRAs?), I'm sure the people around here who actually are ATCOs (unlike me who is still not even in training, waiting for english test results and hopefully if I pass them a course allocation) can clarify that.

So basically above Fl195 you have class C airspace, and used to have Class B for TRAs and A for Airways above FL245, but to harmonise the airspace everything above FL245 is now class C.

At least that's how I understood it.

Class C

If there is no TRA active then all airspace above FL195 is class C. If there is a TRA active then the Class C airspace is above FL245.

But the TRAs are also class C, aren't they? I'm confused now, perhaps I've not understood this after all...

Within a TRA radar service are provided in accordance with ATSOCAS (air traffic serives outside controlled airspace). Lets just say we are getting into way too much detail for stage 1.

For your stage one learn everything on that info sheet and you will be fine. I suspect the fact that you picked up on the discrepancy means you have put some considerable work into learning it. I therefore suspect you will be fine on the exam.

Hi All,

I have my 1st stage this Tuesday. What should I expect from the day. I mean what happens when I walk through the doors, is everyone registered and then we go into a test room do our tests and then wait around for the results or is it spilt up into sections. Just trying to get a general idea of how the day will pan out?

Also what kind of maths is involved and how much emphasis is there on it during the 1st stage assessment?

Thanks.

Finally

After waiting for near 2 months to hear the outcome of my stage 2, I finally got put out of my misery today.

And surprisingly it is good news! Invited to attend Stage 3! Over the moon right now, as I thought all hope was lost! Fingers crossed for the final round!

Congrats go out to everyone getting through the system right now, good luck with your training. Hopefully I will join you!

Congrats LGW, ruins the theory of "if you don't hear straight away, you've failed" though Good luck for your Stage 3!

Hi

Just wondering if there is anyone who's still waiting for stage 1 results from around 03/10?? I know there are alot of people on here who have heard and passed and i have a friend who has heard and failed from the same date. Do you think I should contact NATS, im pretty sure i've failed...but there is always that little bit of optimism at the back your mind!?!

Stage 3

Anyone else booked for stage 3 on Tuesday 30th? I'm flying down Monday 29th and staying in the Holiday Inn at the airport. Anyone wants to share a taxi in the morning give me shout, even if it means meeting up in Southampton. Last minute I know! Good luck to those booked in for tomorrow.

In the words of Duncan Bannatyne: "Im oot". Sat stage 1 on 18th Oct and didn't meet the standard. Good luck to everyone else out there applying.

Waiting to start training?

Is anyone who has already passes stage 3 interested in a facebook group, rather than cluttering up this forum talking about the logistics of being at the college?

I questioned it and got this reply:

The invite should be showing as 7.15 (BST) if you can make sure you are in our reception area by 8.15 (GMT)

Kind regards
