Post IPMS Bottle-it

What is IPMS now? Just an old boys club, obviously the inner sanctum of the union once again stirred up the boys then legged it to management for a poxy 2% plus 1% when NERC comes on line!!!!!!
Why keep paying your subs to these losers?

Now now, I am sure that IPMS are working on a newsletter telling all that the industrial action will not happen and that the 4% additional pay claim has been abandoned.

It would be nice to hear such a statement from the branch and not from management especially as I am an IPMS member. If you check the atcos.co.uk web site it still has reference to industrial action, but it was last updated on May 11th.

Good to see the branch has its finger on the pulse!

so what's happening IPMS ? When do I get to vote on industrial action ? Have you really dropped the 4% supplementary pay claim without telling the members ?

Regardless of whether members wanted to pursue the additional pay claim of 4%, the e-mail dated July 20th from atcos.co.uk clearly states: -

“The offer does not address our supplementary pay claim for a 4% increase (from April 2001) in basic pay. It seeks to compensate the loss of expected bonus payments by offering two unconsolidated lump sum payments: 2% when the Airline Group complete the takeover of NATS (expected 1st August), and 1% to mark the operational opening of Swanwick in January. These they see as the two most significant events for NATS in the coming months”.

One therefore must assume that the branch is still pursing the 4%, but personally I doubt it very much!

Come on IPMS, own up!

Cool

At the end of the day the 2% plus 1% is only 1% short of what was missing.. yes?
So why get all hot and bothered over 1%!!!

Lets save the industrial action threat for when they refuse our 20% plus pay claim for next January!!!

Lets see if the union guys have the bottle to ask for that instead of a poxy 6% which the papers seem to think is the substantial rise they will be asking for!!!

Red face

True,it's not consolidated but neither was the original 4% going to be that the MAJORITY of members voted to accept in the original deal.
No it's not an ideal situation at present, but how many were prepared to come out once the AG offered the 3%?. It's no good threatening action when we all know very well that most won't do anything over a couple of %.
Management now need additional operational attendances from AC staff and I would suggest that no one volunteers to do these under any circumstances in order to strengthen our position when the pay claim is submitted. But we all know that there will be a large number who will do so if the dosh is enough.

I'm sure someone wil correct me on this one, but I was under the distinct impression that IPMS consulted the membership before accepting any bribe.
I know the e-mail said let your reps know what you think, and I certainly told mine exactly what I thought!.
What has annpyed me is the fact that we weren't properly consulted over this matter, I came back from leave to find out that IPMS had accepted this money on my behalf and not even given me the opportunity to formally tell them to get stuffed.

I say the industrial action vote should still go ahead, at least then we've got something to bargain with in the pay talks.

And as for the NERC bonus, somehow don't think we'll be seeing that in January or february or even March April May June July!!

I look forward to reaing the IPMS reasoning behind this fiasco!
