If I wanted to download a movie, Whats the difference between .mpg or .avi files and haw can readthem?

If you have the latest version WMP it will read either format.

If you are looking for something more powerful:
Cucusoft AVI to DVD/VCD/SVCD/MPEG Converter Pro 2.1 (http://www.avi-vcd.com/)
