Hello there ...

Having trouble working this out! Can anyone help me please?

A earth distance of 45nm is shown on a chart by a distance of 12 inches. The scale of the chart is:

45*72960/12

72960 is the number of inces in a NM.. so I would go with d (i got 273600)

The other question is ...

A chart represents 20 statute miles by 20 centimetres. The scale of the chart is:

20SM is about 32km so..

32*1000*100/20 = 160,000 so i would go with b

sm*meters*cm/chart distance.

Hope it helps
