no, no, no

Just heard that ryanair will be launching 3 new routes which will be announced tomorrow. Has anyone heard anything about them, or where they will be from?

Are they going to do new London ones, maybe new aircraft in Luton? Could be extension of PIK or Stockholm (they don't do CRL/BGY/DUB from Stockholm and they like to link bases!)

Has anyone heard anything at all?

There was a rumour a short time ago about PIK getting its first 737-800. Here's hoping!!

I know that they are advertising within the company for 800 crews do go up to PIK for the fall, and I was also told by someone in NYO that they will be doing NYO CRL with spare capacity as the PIK 800 will be doing the PIK-NYO route

I also heard that tomorrow one of the new routes is from PIK to mainland Europe, likely Germany (LBC) or Sweden (MMX or GSE).

One of the other new routes should be from Hahn to replace the Bournemouth service.

I also expected something from Stockholm NYO.

Any chance it could be new routes from Belfast (BFS).

Are Ryanair still planning to start flights from this airport. There has been rumours going round for a while about flights from here to mainland Europe.

Any ideas??

Sorry, no new routes from BFS today:(

But it seems confirmed a new route from PIK to Sweden (GSE or MMX).

just announced

Frankfurt to Venice
Bournemouth to Girona
Prestwick to Gothenburg

The Girona route is interesting as neither airports are bases which kind of goes against Ryanairs strategy. I thought this was the first one but saw that they also do Pisa to Hamburg - again neither airports are bases!!!

They have also put another rotation on the Bournemouth-Prestwick service.
Ryanair were supposed to add 2 new routes from Prestwick to Milan and Lubeck.

Also on a Schipols spotters site there is flighttimes of a new 2 daily service to AMS from Prestwick operated by a B733.

Ryanair were supposed to add 2 new routes from Prestwick to Milan and Lubeck.

That would tally with the announcement of two new 800s for PIK. Any news on when they will be announced?

Can we merge these two similar threads running in tandem!!??

New Ryanair Route between Bournemouth and Spain

Bournemouth - Barcelona Girona from £39.99 one way including tax

Ryanair, Europe's No.1 low fares airline, today (13 August 2003) announced a
new daily route between Bournemouth and Barcelona Girona, Spain, with fares
starting from £39.99 including taxes.

Ryanair now operates three low-fare routes from Bournemouth to Europe and
will be increasing capacity this winter when it doubles its frequency on its Glasgow Prestwick service to two flights a day from 16 October.

And to celebrate, the airline is having a seat sale on Glasgow Prestwick and Dublin with a fantastic offer of £19.99; more details available at www.ryanair.com.

Speaking in Bournemouth today, Ryanair's UK Sales Manager Kathryn Munro said: "Ryanair is the only really low fares airline in Europe. We now operate 128 routes and will carry 24 million passengers throughout Europe this year, almost 1/4 million of whom will be on our Bournemouth routes.

"Spain has been our strongest growth market this summer and we are responding to what we know the people of Bournemouth and the surrounding regions want, and we expect to carry 100,000 passengers on it annually.

"Due to scheduling, to allow us to set up the new Barcelona service, we're
going to discontinue the Frankfurt Hahn service from Bournemouth. The new route
plays to our strengths and offers an exciting Spanish destination for which
there is phenomenal demand because of the guaranteed sunshine.

"Ryanair offers more routes, more destinations, more frequency, better punctuality and
unbeatable passenger service, which is why we continue to grow rapidly and why
we are Europe's No. 1 low fares airline."

Glyn Jones, Bournemouth Airport Managing Director said: "This announcement by Ryanair is great news. Twice as many low cost seats to Glasgow Prestwick and the fantastic new route to Barcelona Girona means yet more choice from Bournemouth. We also look forward to welcoming many visitors from Scotland and Spain. This further commitment by Ryanair to Bournemouth shows yet again the level of demand for low cost travel in our region."

The new Bournemouth - Barcelona Girona service starts on 26 October and the extra flight to Glasgow Prestwick starts on 16 October 2003. Passengers can book online from today at www.ryanair.com. For full details of fares and timetables, visit www.ryanair.com

alas still no Belfast routes - last I heard (from a reliable source) was that MOL had discussions with both BFS and more recently BHD (after Ferrovial purchase) - problem with BFS lies with whether they dare risk upsetting Easyjet by allowing MOL access given the less than friendly relationship between the 2 airlines - presumably BFS would not want a war of words on its doorstep.

With BHD, the main stumbling block appears to be whether MOL will agree to use only B737-800s as the the B737-200s would be a problem for noise reasons.

Can anyone else shed any light?
