Seems to be a lot of partying going on in London during August, so thought I'd add to the chaos. I'll be in London from 28 - 31 August. Anyone likely to fancy a drink around, say, the 29th? Possible venues - YOCC, OBoE, Founders Arms, Knight's Templar or...?

OzExpat will be holding court in the Knight Templar on Carey Street, EC4 tonight. I'll be meeting him there around 5.45/6-ish.

And a bloody good night it was too! Made all the better by the attendance of the delightful PilotsPal! :ok: There was only 3 of us there in all but I was greatly impressed with the place. It's a Wetherspoons pub (oops, can I say Wetherspoon here?), so the drinks were the right price. And it's got the most lavish dunny I've seen anywhere! A real joy to be heavin yer guts up in that dunny! :p

If anyone is planning to join me on the 29th, I reckon the Knight Templar is the right place for it! Up Chancery Lane from Fleet Street, on the corner of Carey Street - dead easy to find! :ok: I already know of three people who'll be there and they are all keen on the idea of proceeding from there to the Donzoko Japanese resty in Kingly Street (EC1, I think). Should be a great night out on the slops! :)

That's a good point ESG. I'll be at the Knight Templar from around 17:00. Haven't quite figured out when we'll head off for dinner but suspect we may have to book at the resty that night, so probably decamp from the pub around 19:30 or so.

We'll find another pub after that... there's a pretty good one right next to the Donzoko, in Kingly Street. Can't remember the name of it but feel sure that Pilots Pal can help me failing, booze soaked memory. :D

Just to get an idea, how many people would like to come along for the Jap tucker at Donzoko's tomorrow evening? Being the last Friday of the month, I'll need to give them a ring to book a table. So far as I'm aware, its OzEx, Reddo, Checkers and me...

The selected "war paint and battle gear" was entirely appropriate Reddo! In fact, it has to be said that all the ladies looked good enuf to eat last night... even those that I met in the Ladies Loo! :E

A real shame that Rallye Driver couldn't stay with us for dinner, due to work commitments, but was great to catch up with you again mate! :ok: The group going to dinner at the Donzoko consisted of Reddo, Checkboard, PilotsPal, brockenspectre, taildragger and yours truly.

I hadn't met Checkers or Brocky before so it was a special night for me to meet two such great folks. We really MUST do it again next year! :ok: It's always a treat to be able to catch up with Reddo and PP, of course, and last night was no exception - both of them being gorgeous and very VERY badly behaved! :D It's been 2 years since I last saw Rallye Driver and barely a month since I last caught up with Taily but they're both still the same party animals they've always been!

It was a pity that the session had to end but all good things have to do that. I look forward to seeing you all again next year but, in the meantime, I feel sure that photos will appear in due course. :O

having been told about the lavish style of the "dunnies" at the Knights Templar I checked this out for myself - this picture barely does justice to the ladies hand-washing area!! For anyone visiting London this pub and its "dunnies" have to be inspected!!!!

on to Donzoko where we proceeded to down green tea, water ....hehehe nah not really... a couple did start with those drinks but it was sake, sake, sake, red win, japanese beer, and MORE sake hehehehe Thanks to those familiar with the restaurant and jap tucker (see how I can speak oztralian!) we partook of sushi, sashimi, soy beans, pickles, bean curd (well that was Taily's ... cos OzEx refused to eat it (having tried in the past) I nobly refused to try it too!)....

THEN it was GIZZARD TIME!!!

Checkers ordered a portion of gizzard as a final attempt to mop up alcohol and very kindly shared this with us all, leaving the final tasty morsel to his beloved!! Here Reddo demonstrates the delicate way to approach gizzard munching! heheheh

THEN leaving the restaurant the plan was for Taily and I to head to the tube leaving PP, Reddo, Checkers and Oz at a nearby pub but Taily couldn't drag himself away so I headed home, arriving just after midnight to a very squeaky-howly hound!

This has deffo got to be an annual thing! I can see it now - 2004 and the Donzoko restaurant is fully booked by prooners on the annual "OzEx does Donzoko Bash" hehehehe

Have a safe trip home Ozzie and look forward to seeing your pics in due course!
