Why can't we have one on the West Coast and one on the East Coast. Not everyone can get to Perth.

maflsc Last year's Ozbash was held in Melbourne, this year's is being held in Perth, so why don't you organise next year's to be held somewhere along the east coast? The idea of an annual bash is because distances between places in Australia are so great people need time to get themselves and their funds organised. :ok: It is NOT and E v W competition. Start planning now and you will stand a good chance of getting people to attend. ;) Good luck!:)

:( okay so there is not room for two bashes in Oz so why not have next years bash in Roma at Easter. We already have a fly in then. The council waves landing fees. There is also "Easter in the Country":ok: This means lots of things on in town to keep every one happy.

Easter 04 may be a tad too soon for those of us just getting over the one in Sept 03 - financially as well as physically. I can probably get time off then, but dunno if I'll be able to afford the trip. However, if it's the only time of year that it can be held, it might work out better for other folks - and might even bring in some folks from overseas.

If someone is volunteering to organise it, please keep the updates coming so that we can all keep track of the dates. The only thing is... does Roma have enuf diversity of pubs/clubs (not to mention eateries) to sustain a 4-day bash?

Sounds good to me. There doesn't seem to be a lot of other interest though.

I think as the time draws closer there will be more interest. We had a "Fly in" last Easter and that went well with all Pilots promising to return in 2004. I have had a good response in PMs.

My work schedule has finally been sorted and, for the first time since 1984, I'll be stuck here right over Easter. :{ So it's confirmed that I'll havta miss out on an Ozbash for the first time ever! :{

Hi maffy... the tucker that we're talking about is sushi and sashimi. It isn't usual to find Japanese restaurants so far away from a regular, ready and plentiful supply of fresh seafood. :( wiz has to go allllllllllll the way to Perth to satisfy his addiction but I only have to travel 6.5 miles...

Sorry that I'm going to have to miss this bash. I could probably have gone without my Jap resty fix for that period of time, but the work is going to keep me busy right over Easter. :{

I tried so bloody hard to get organized to attend the show in Roma. I juggled work around for three months to get it all sorted, and then it bloody rained and sent all my effort down the drain.
I am working flat out for the next three weeks dammit. :{

The Bash was a flop as no one turned up. the "Fly in"was a great success, with the apron being full of aeroplanes. The QANTAS flight was full every day for the week leading up to the festival. Everyone who attended had a great time. The population went from 9000 to 19000 in town.

It has now been decided by everyone who attended to make the "fly in" an annual event. :ok:

So if you didn't attend this year you missed a great party :(

We start the planning for next year in about five months.

When I can get some pictures I will work out how to put them here.

So if you want to hijack this thread Kaptin M go for it.
