Off to Ireland soon, has anyone any recommendations
for renting a SEP anywhere south of a line drawn from Galway to just below Dublin?

Not choosy on type 'cos they'll want a check anyway, but details of their temporary membership costs and a contact no.

Cheers

I can't help directly but you could also try asking on the Irish Aviation Bulletin Board (http://www.irishaviation.net/forums/) as well.

I'm after personal experiences, I've looked on the Irish Aviation website.

Squawking 7700,

You could try the National Flight Centre at Weston on the southwest side of Dublin.
They operate 150’s, 172’s, and Tampico’s amongst other odds and ends.
They can be contacted at + 353 1 6280659

If you want to go a little more south of the line, Kilkenny Airfield is your best bet.
If you are prepared to settle for a tin parachute Kilkenny has four on offer (I think)
Two100’s one 150 and a 180.
The operation is managed by Martin Mullhall, one of the most helpful and accommodating individuals in the Irish general aviation scene.
He can be contacted at + 353 56 21843

I have no idea what membership costs are at either operation.

Hope this is of some help - enjoy your Irish tour.

Galway Aeroclub have some nice 172R's - not sure of contact details. Also try SouthAer in Cork - very friendly.

Personally, I would never fly a NFC aircraft again...don't waste your time checking out why.

Thanks VORTIME, I take it you've rented from all of the above
and so know what's what.

I can find out the contact details and I've seen previous posts
regarding NFC so I think I'll avoid.

Thanks

I had a 1 hour flight in a Warrior from Waterford. The instructor was very good, and the price was reasonable. The people in the club house were friendly and helpful, and the scenery is great.

Waterford is one of my favourite destinations - it's great being able to pop into Cork or Kerry in no time at all. All sorts of "aircraft" hangered there.
