Did yas hear the latest

Airlines are now dreaming up putting seats in the cabin that can inform cabin crew about that pax through a display unit possibly in the galley. Is she/he a nevous flyer, a potential terrorist, been sitting or sleeping for too long & at risk of developing deep vein thrombosis & need to be asked to walk around the aircraft. It should be up & running in a year & should be 'inflicted on', I mean't 'helping' first class pax by then. That's good, it leaves me off the hook for a few more years, the time I reckon it will take to make it's way down to the bargain bucket basement seats at the back where I usually reside with me plastic cup of orange juice in me Dunnes Stores Specials. :D

These 'bl**dy seats', I meant seats (jeez, what is wrong with me today) will warn cabin crew if pax's behaviour is out the ordinary. More sensors may be added & techniques such as monitoring temperature & skin moisture could be used to help crew make this judgement.

Lighting will automatically dim when it's sensed that the pax has dropped off to sleep I mean.

Bewarned. beware, Big Brother is watching you & ya won't need to go on some Gawdawful boring TV programme to be targeted. Lets hope that all you're bodies react in the average 'normal' way otherwise you may be targeted as a potential terrorist when the only thing you're ever likely to hold up is your piggy bank :D

What if you had a huge curry the night before. Can they detect that?

my ordinary may be different from your ordinary...how will the seat detect that? As long as the buggah goes flat and I can sleep after my red wine and Glenfiddich I'll be a happy pax

Onan, probably everybody could. ;)

I know my underpants could. Maybe they should make all the seats out of my old underpants. :ugh:

It's all very well for those up the pointy end but I don't suppose these electronic seats might actually be able to register how uncomfortable everyone is in those child-size seats down the back.

Naaahhhh ... once they realise the majority of the pax are squirming with discomfort they might be forced to do something about it.

And we can't have that can we?

I think the whole idea is appalling.

It's morally wrong to spy on people like that.

Celtic Emerald, I'm busy on that project, it is a laugh a minute and yes, if the airline wanted it we could detect farting whether directly with a sensor or just by the buttock flex. :O

What if it was an SBD? Not much buttock flex there.

I wonder if those seats can detect a sudden increase in weight during flight...in the magnitude of double or under, let's say.

I am with you to a point Redvixen, however if that is what it takes to prevent some muppet causing the plane that you are aboard to fly into a building and cause bad days all round, then it is difficult to dismiss the idea.
