:) Could some one please tell me the following.

Cessna 150 Aerobat

What is the engine size?
What is the fuel burn per hour in USG in the cruise?
What is the still air climb rate at Vy
What is the fuel capacity?

Better still has anyone got a copy of the POH they could send me?

Thanks

Interesting that this thread is placed next to the "A330 fuel burn???" on the home page at the moment :hmm:

I was under the impression that the Aerobat was a regular 150 with a beefed up fuselage and inverted fuel/oil supply, but I could be wrong. I have a Kershner book at home that features this a/c and I'll take a look if I can find it.

Lycoming AO-235. Ther 'A' prefix denotes it's an aerobatic version . Not as aerobatic as some of their other engines which have a slightly different prefix (AEO-xxx). It's been a while it might be the AEO prefix that applies to the A152. Can't remember.

About 25 L/hr. A bit more if you're going flat chat, less if you're flying for range.

Vy is about 65 kts (67?) at SL, reducing with altitude.

149 L useable although there's a smaller tank version too with about 90L (I seem to recall).

Check which version you want.

They have been made with O-200, O-235 or O-240 engines.

A rule of thumb says for 65% cruise - litres/hour=cubic inches/10

e.g. 20, 23 or 24 litres/hour for the above machines
You'll use a bit more fuel (and oil) if aerobatting them

Just checked the flight manual for the C150 Aerobat I fly.

Engine size: RR Continental Type 0-240-E (3933cc). Max continuous power 123hp @ 2650rpm.

Cruise fuel burn: 5.6 US gal/hr @ 2400rpm (55%) and 2500'.

Climb rate at Vy: 845fpm in ISA at 61 kts IAS.

Fuel capacity: 26 US gal standard tanks, 38 Us gal long range tanks.

Enjoy.:O :8
