And the point of this thread is? I've only closed one thread all month and posted my reasons for doing so at the time... Or is this a fishing expediton to start a WWW-kicking thread? Cheers, WWW

Time for a new moderator I think, www is closing threads left right and centre, and in my opinion is 'losing the plot'
Over to you.....

for as long as this one stays open..

Looking down the threads, I see 1 closed in the last 3 days. Not quite my idea of censorship.

Sorry Crash Barrier, but the day I see you giving up your days off to address wannabe seminars, the day you spend half your spare time dispensing advice on here & responding to countless private e-mails (while no doubt looking over your shoulder at your own job security), is the day I’ll take your criticism of WWW seriously.

Its dead easy to sit there & throw stones isn’t it?

Indeed Polar you have disagreed with me from time to time - which is fine. We both respect each others opinions. Cheers, WWW

CB,

Have to agree with G SXTY. This is where all these theads go wrong when they start getting personal for whatever reason.

I agree that WWW is a tad heavy handed at time, and I've said as much too, but also I don't agree with everything that he writes any more than he'll agree with me. But, we are both entitled to our opinions without attacking people individualy.

Frankly, it changes the argumets somewhat away from the original topic, as was the case with Senecasoarer's post, and WWW was totaly correct to close it. That was one of the worst examples I've seen too, and credit to WWW and SS for putting up with it so long. Way off the mark if you ask me, and some of the posts in that thread are disgracefull, and I must say I'm lost for words as to some of them.

PS

LAVDUMPER - you waded in and made the following statement to me publicly "I know it took you FOREVER to find a semi-decent flying position with GONE, but you don't have to be so bitter. So what if this guy will be flying bigger, better equipment than you EVER will. His eventual 777 will cruise right past your piece-o-schit 733. How do you feel now?"

Well I tell you how I felt. Bloody annoyed. So I let lose with both barrels. Which you deserved. Get over it. As you are neither a pilot nor a Wannabe then you need not bother coming back. Cheers. WWW.
-------------------------

My encounter with WWW on the SenecaSoarer thread was unfortunate - but eye-opening.

At what point does a supposedly objective moderator cross the line? Sure, everyone should have opinions, but understanding the context under which the questions are raised is very important. In my mind, a good moderator will understand the context and provide straight-forward advice - not laced with sour words or sarcasm that could potentially upset the question poster - even if reality really does bite.

WWW has proven that he can't have a rational argument without resorting to name-calling and disparaging words - I am NOT interested in continuing that discourse with him again. I was as shocked as everyone else with his immature display - even if he does dispute that. Continuing the name-calling game with him will not accomplish much besides sullying his now somewhat tarnished image.

I think that Capt. PPRUNE should at least consider evaluating WWW and his previous remarks - I may email him and ask him to do so. Restoring objectivity is the goal...

Good moderators need to be objective and professional in their decorum. Given the embarrassing display provided by WWW, I'd say he does not fit the bill. If he does remain as moderator, I hope he tones down his "holier-than-thou" attitude and talk and provides more objective advice to those who really do need it in this difficult time...

That's it - I am washing my hands to this foul display of immaturity - unless someone decides to stir up the pot again... I hope not. Ciao and GOD BLESS!

clear prop!!!

Clear Prop! and I had a bit of a spat a month or two back. He was objecting to me making excessive negative comments about fast moving developments post Sep 11th. I am glad to see that he has found a way to so quickly bear his grudge and stick the knife in below. Cheers mate. WWW
--------------------

Have to agree with the above.

Of late I have seen a lot of what could be described as 'I'm all right Jack' type comments from our esteemed moderator.

Interesting change of perspective from when WWW was 'one of us'. In these days, when in the same boat, WWW gave insparation and hope to those who perhaps knew less, indeed he was of great help to me, who definitely knew less at the time.

I can't help but wonder if the power thing has taken over. The misreading of posts because he was 'too busy helping old ladies accross the street' thing has worn a bit thin.

I now very rarely visit this forum as a result of the negative attitudes that prevail from the so called top. Yes, things are bad, but lets try and find some positive thinking here!

Bring back the old WWW. Even if it was an ego thing, at least it was informative and helpfull.

I await the onslaught from the hero worshipers!!!!

Crash old son, for once I 'nearly' agree with you!

I don't want to get involved in the personal stuff. But I would say that closing a thread which has become a personal name-calling duel was sensible.

This forum is the worst for threads that degenerate into personal attacks. That might explain the high levels of closure. It would be much nicer if you guys conducted your flame wars in private, rather than tie up our valuable, and costly bandwidth.

And, as I agree with EGDR, I'll close this one as well.

Cheers

H

Thanks for doing that H. And thank you to all the people who have emailed me "Don't let the B@stards get you down" messages of support. Cheers, WWW
