Hello
How long has MAN had a JFK route? Was JFK operated by BOAC in the 1960s/70s using VC-10s or 707s? And also what was the equipment used on this route in 1980s before the 767-300s where used-was a Tristar used? as I remember BA Tristars at MAN. Also what US airlines operated into MAN in the 60s, 70s and 80s? Did Pan Am ever operate schedules from MAN, or TWA? and also when did MAN first get its ORD route?

BA did run L1011 from MAN-JFK. The ORD route AFAIK came in when AA staretd it (forget when though)

Neither Pan Am nor TWA operated schedules into MAN, but both operated charter flights so frequently (6 or 7 a week being unremarkable during the summer) that the end result was pretty much the same.

Overseas National (ONA), too, were very frequent visitors with DC8s and, later, DC10s.

I have a BOAC timetable dated Jan 1956 which shows 3 Stratocruiser flights per week from Man(Burtonwood) to New York via Prestwick.
Later the DC7c and Britannia were used.

I may be wrong but didn't Aer Lingus try it for a while in the mid-1990's with an A330 routing via Dublin or Shannon soon after AA pulled out?

The first trans Atlantic service from Ringway was surely SABENA with 707''s out of BRU onwards to Idelwald.

BOAC Cunard followed with a 707 service predating Tristars. It was the Speedbird 538 if I recall.

Don't forget the Canadians with CP Air and Air Canada followed later by Air TransAt and Royal

As for regular charters my favorites were American Flyers, ONA, TIA and Capitol.
