View Full Version : Radio interference - who wants to know?

I noticed in the thread on the Brize frequency change a comment about reporting background radio interference to 'TELS.'

Can somebody please elaborate on what this is, and how one goes about reporting this sort of problem.

I have been getting sporadic but serious interference on the Redhill frequency (119.60) within about 10 miles east and west of the field for some time now, especially in the Dorking area. It seems to be coming from a fairly major unit somewhere since the communications are with commercial rather than GA traffic, but it's strong enough to completely drown out Redhill at times.

TELS is a term used to describe our engineering staff. If you notice interference on a frequency notify the ATC (or FISO) at the unit concerned and they will take the appropriate action.

Thanks cossack. I have emailed Redhill ATC and await a reply.
