So after many years the "UK" callsign is finally about to be dropped. Buzz will cease flying on Monday night and from tomorrow morning all KLM uk flights (to and from AMS) Fokker 50 and Fokker 100 will be using KLM callsigns.

I think UK 97 India is more memorable than KLM 1445 (or is that quarter to three!)

Is this the end of an era? Please expect a lot of RT mistakes over the next few days controllers..."UK- LM 1234..." you know what we mean!

The UKAY callsigns certainly stick in your memory.

The one I had the most trouble with was UKAY 1UQ! An absolute nightmare early in the morning.

I wish all the UK pilots all the best with getting to grips with the new set up.

Poor crews are trying their best - with only a few "UKA - I mean KLM......." today.:p

Similar problem with Go/easyJet. Plenty of crews at STN have been trying to use the 'Go-Fly' callsign over the past few days, and many of them are calling up without actually knowing their callsigns. I guess that'll be smoothed out in the next few days.

Oh well long live Air Berlin ..... they're helping to pay my wages!
