Air Canada have demanded the following concessions from the IAM (Machinist Union) which represent the mechanics, cargo and ramp workers: 35% cut in wages; 1 week vacation give back; 100% uniform cost; 200 hours (1 for 1) compulsory time bank;
But the airline is also persuing it's divestiture agenda. Selling 49% of Tech-Ops, 100% of ramp, cargo and check in to the GTAA, closing all but one of the call centers and selling reservations to Onyx Corporation. Onyx is the company that recently purchased a chunk of AeroPlan.
