Hi folks
I was wondering if it is possible to fly at any airfield, even abroad, when you have your Solo Competency certificate? Or do you have to fly only at your airfield??
Thanks for your replies....

I have no idea what a solo competency certificate is, but if your question is: can an unlicensed student fly solo wherever he likes?, the answer is no. An instructor must approve each solo flight. You don't have to be at your base airfield: your instructor could accompany you to a land-away and send you off solo from there (if the airfield is licensed), but your instructor's approval and supervision are required for solo flight before licence issue.

What is a Solo Competency Certificate please?
I have been solo but not heard of this!

I suspect that the reference is to a certificate given out by a flying school. There is of course no CAA document in respect of the first solo, just as there is no student licence in the UK.
