If you look in a number of Pilot mags, you will see any number of places advertising their prices/hrs and licences on offer. You would be wise to use the search engine here to report on what others have said about US schools.

I have experience of schools in California. One I have heard positive results is UK Flight Training based at Long Beach, CA. Mostly good weather (but not all the time in winter) and good complex airpsace to practice in.

I have flown from a school at longbeach (hr building) and was impressed by the whole approach the schools and airfield takes. It is good practice for flying back here when qualified.

Also, Los Angeles & Long Beach affords a whole host of things to do when not flying.
