I'm off to Florida in the next month.

My CAA licence number has changed due to JAR and under FAA regulations I need to have my FAA licence changed accordingly to be able to fly P1.

Does anyone know where the FAA licensing office is in the Orlando area?

Directions / contact number / email whould be of great help.

Thanks.

Head north out of Orlando International on the 436 (about a mile I think). Its in a complex of buildings on the right hand side. Very friendy and helpfull unlike our lot.

Wish I was going too.

Since the events of the 11th I have been informed that you need to make an appointment to go and see the people at the FAA office. Alternatively you can pay and go to one their agents (cant remember the term for them). I was at Winter Haven and there was a guy at Jack Browns Seaplane base that could do the necessary FAA sign offs.

You can still convert your licence at the FAA office but you need prior appointment. Alternatively you can go to Designated examiner and convert your licence. The DE in Kissimmee area charges $40. I don't know the name of DE in ISM but you can get in touch OFT at 1-800-259-2100 and have them arrange it for you. The DE in Winter Haven charges $25. His name is Jon Brown and you call Brown Seaplane base to get in touch with him. Their phone number is +1-863-956-2243.

I hope this helps.

O.F.T. guy is Steve Brady.

Orlando FSDO can be reached through their website... http://www.faa.gov/fsdo/orl/

Send an e-mail to Larry Oliver (address link on web site) and explain the situation - it's his job.
