Others may disagree that getting 2002 when you already have 2000 is worth while, I don't know as my last sim was 98.
However if you do buy the sim you can always get 15£ back by sending proof of purchase and evidence that you owned a previous version, (all explained in the manual). So if you look at it that way you can get the pro edition for a similar price to the normal one!
I have the pro edition and I personally think it is the best PC sim I have ever played!
Enjoy!

I started with 98, then 2000 and now have 2002. The decision to purchase depends on what your "uses" will be.

I noticed that the characteristics between say 737 2000 and 737 2002 were different. (but I don't know which one is more realistic.) I will ask a friend who is a pro pilot, who I guess will be able to answer ur question. I will reply as soon as I have an answer. (should be next 24hrs) so look out for reply.

I use FS for entertainment purposes, if this is your goal, then upgrade to 2002. I can't comment on whether either version is good for education purposes, but will try to help.

Best

Sorry,

competely miss-read your question....

From a "sim-pilot's" point of view, Pro version is the one to buy. If ur buying for education purposes, then the only difference between the two is extra aircraft and the ability to change scenery.

If you don't want to "play" with FS and ur reasons for purchase are for Education, then save the money and buy standard version. You will not gain anything from buying Pro.

Trust me.
GoodLuck

how about that hey?!

I wont be using that special "designer" program the pro version comes with, if i do buy it. i guess the only reason will be for those two extra airplanes

For those of you who are interested, you can download extra aircraft for your flight sim programs (mainly the Microsoft sims) at www.simviation.com. The aircraft are built by fellow sim users, but most offer similar quality to the ones packaged with the original program. Seperate sections for GA, Commercial jet, military, and a few that are a little more obscure.
