Hi,

I'm going to be staying in Schladming in March and am keen to get in some mountain flying instruction.

There's an airfield very close by at Niederoblarn, oherwise it would have to be Zell am See, Trieben or Salzburg. I've found on the web schools/instructors at Salzburg but can't find anything on the others - all of which I think would be more convenient and probably more fun.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

hi there!

i took part in last years world championship of helicopter flying near niederöblarn/austria and i can recommend it to you. i flew for the swiss team.

there are very famous mountain ranges, as the "dead mountains" in german totengebirge, the landscape is beautiful.

i found out the adress in niederöblarn, its:

http://www.club-sportunion.at/

take a look at the link "alpenflugzentrum", there you will find more information. the lady at the desk speaks english so u could give her a small call and reserve a booking.

have fun! i'm off to new zealand to go heliflying..;=)

Stephan,

Thanks, that's just what I needed. I'll post to let you know how I got on.

What exactly does the world helicopter championships entail? Sounds impressive.

Anyway, have fun in NZ.
