IR question

I have seen on a number of documents after the words instrument rating "performance A" or words to that effect, could someone please fill me in on what this means, probably very trivial but anyway?. .Cheers.. .. . <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> Real Men land where they like <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Aircraft in performance group A should be able to continue their flight if a single engine failure occurs anywhere after V1 (decision speed). Perf A is also an exam you have to (had to under JAR?) to show you can do the relevant calculations. Most airlines will expect you to pass this exam before you apply for jobs.. .. .Regards

No such thing as a performance A exam nowadays under the JAR rules - there is just one all encompassing 'performance' exam (mostly all to do with class A aircraft) which has to be passed as one of the 14 ATPL theory exams.
