As a long time lurker on this site, I have read many accounts of first solo's, wondering how I would feel when I managed to accomplish the feat.. .. .Yesterday afternoon at 1615 I knew what it felt like. WOW The smile is still fixed. I never realised how well a C152 would go with only one on board . .. .Many thanks to Mark and Gordon at the Pilot Centre at Denham for their instruction and advice.. .. .Fly safe.. .. .PS - How many hours I hear you ask ? Let's just say more than 10 and less than 20 !

Congrats!!!!. .. .A great feeling that lasts for ages. Your now a member of a very elite club - how many other people do you know that can fly a plane by themselves! Everytime I read a first solo post I think back to when I did mine and once again that big smile comes back. WELL DONE . .. .I assume you had many pints last night and if not - why not!. .. .CBK. . . . [ 13 March 2002, 15:51: Message edited by: Capt BK ]

Congratulations! I went up on my own for the first time on the 3rd, and I'm still smiling about it...

Congrats T.A.G.!. .. .You only get 1 first solo and youŽll remember it forever. I still beam when I think about when I did mine which was 4 years ago this July. My PA28. .lifted off like a rocket and took me a tad by surprise I admit!. .. .Unfortunately I was 17 and therefore not allowed to sink any pints......legally. But I found after a few beers I could fly the aircraft perfectly. hehe. No, really though, I got lashed coz it was my birthday too, yay!. .. .Well done and enjoy the rest of the course, the meaty stuff is yet to come!

Many congrats, and welcome to the club!!. .. .I think the only event in my life I enjoyed more than 1st solo was getting engaged – and even that was on Concorde!

Congrats, yes it is fantastic . .. .I kind of fluked my solo, I won a competition in Today's Pilot last year for ten hours and the chance to fly so if we made the grade. . .. .Started on the Monday and made it on the Thursday in 9.2 hours, I'm still smiling now (I've got the added bonus of looking back at the magazine article). Anyway enough of my waffle, well done, now aim for the PPL. .. .Danza

T,. .Well done, the solo is an event to be savoured! . .. .Inevitably, this means your lurking will take on a new menace now that you have some solid experience under you belt. . .. .And quite right too!. .Congrats

152 certainly does go like a rocket with 1 up As they say, welcome to the club! New member myself, and the smile hasn't gone yet Good luck with the rest of the flying!!!

Well, I've never forgotton mine I can still see the neatly tied seatbelt on the empty instructors seat to this day, and that was in June 1970! I did get that first solo feeling again though - when in 1974 with the ink barely dry on my full instructor rating I SENT my first solo!. .. .Congrats and welcome to the club!
