Hi there,. .. .You need to get a ME before doing a IR(ME). Initially I planned to get my ME in the states before starting my IR in the UK. In the end I did it in the UK and was quite happy with that. . .. .I trained at PAT in Bournemouth and by starting the ME there (with the same instructor who did my IR)I was able to fly parts of the IR training during my ME training. This way I got a good feel for the aircraft and the instructor learned my problem area's.. .. .The second question I had to answer was whether I wanted to do part of the IR training SE or ME. Obviously doing it SE was cheaper but you run the risk that you change aircraft too much. PAT have the Sierra for the IR as well as the Duchess and they have a similar cockpit layout. In the end I have done it all ME and had a full pass first time around. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="smile.gif" /> . .. .Whether all this was due to flying it all ME during the training I don't know but it did give me stability while training and I was very at ease with the aircraft.. .. .What ever you decide: good luck!
