Can anyone tell me, if I fly with an instructor to keep my skills current...when is a flight PUT and when is it P1/s? (and what is P1/us?)

e.g. If I do a currency check after 1 month absence from flying to comply with the club rules, and the instructor finds no faults with my flying...is this P1/s or PUT?

AND under which column do I put P1/s...should it be "In command" or "Dual"? Everyone I have spoken to on this tells me "In command" yet my logbook says different!

Thanks

It's PICU/S on a Skill Test or Proficiency Check with an FE...if you pass. If you fail, it's Dual.

Suggest you put P1/S in the 'In Command' column, the instructor's name as Commander and get him/her to sign the entry.

At last the caa produced a document 2 months ago explaining how jar log books should be filled in.

<a href="http://www.srg.caa.co.uk/documents/srg_fcl_gid44.pdf" target="_blank">http://www.srg.caa.co.uk/documents/srg_fcl_gid44.pdf</a>

I now have a copy in my log book to stop any arguments for check flights etc. Always put your name in as PIC before handing over to be signed stops CFI's etc scrawling all over it.

(by CFI's i am refering to FAA instructors, not the Chief FI)
