I am starting my PPL soon and have been told that the best thing to do is to spread the PPL over 1 year so that i can get my licence just after my 17th birthday.

I was then told that i should then begin my theoretical training for my CPL written exams which should take about a year, so that i can pass the exams just after my 18th birthday.

The thing is im planning on spreading my PPL over 2 years which would mean that after ive completed the CPL written exams i would be 19.

My question is:

Can i study for the CPL written exams whilst im doing my PPL and so take the CPL exams at the same time i complete my PPL?

In JARland things ain't so clearcut. Have a good read of GID 24 and then consider all the implications and options.
