a friend who has just been to tanzania (dar es salaam) reckoned there might be a pilot shortage over there - for light aircraft/twins operating tourist flights and such like.

anybody know anything about the market there? apparently it's a very nice place to live...

Hey all

I have a friend who wishes to fly in Tanzania as his prefered career...anybody know of any airlines in Tanzania except for Air Tanzania, which we already know about. And small internal airlines, or anything would be great to know about.

Many thanks.

How about PrecisionAir (http://www.precisionairtz.com/)

Forget Precision Air if you ain't a local!
Best bets are Air Excel in Arusha, Coastal in Dar Es Salaam, and the golden boys out in Mwanza.
You'll need the Tz. CPL too before they will even consider you.
You are bette off if you have the time and some money saved to go over, meet with the guys and convert your license too since resumes will get the once over without a whole lot of thought unless you have a recommendation.
Planes? Caravans, light twins ie 404's and 340's on down to 206's.
Happy huntin
