Sponsership to ATPL

I know after sept 11th most of the Airlines aren't hiring but does anyone know of sponsership opportunities in freight or similar fields. I'd Like to train in the states I just need the cash to do it with out resorting to a nice kind bank manager

Essentially, there are none at the moment. Sponsorship deals may return in 2003/4, but I wouldn't hold out much hope of that. There are rumours of a possible sponsorship through British European coming up, but the last one required you to pay £32,000! There is also a scheme by a company called Malgus which claims to fully sponsor the best of a very large number of applicants - as long as sufficient hopefuls cough up £147 to be assessed.. .You may be better off with the Lottery, but do a Pprune search on these two for recent info.

Thanks Scroggs, I talked to the Malgus people at the Flyer Mag Professional Flight Training Show late last yr. Unfortunately the cut off date for application was last novemeber and they won't be accepting more applicants until august this yr by which time I'd hope to be in training. How about loans? Just reading afew others here and that looks like my way to go right now, what's the deal?

Usually they test your literacy during selection. Check that you can spell what it is that you are asking for!

s'ok deviant my typing is worse than normal....lol. but just in answer I'm studying a Beng degree in aerospace engineering so i'm not totally illiterate

Hmm. Haven't met an engineer yet that could complete a non-technical paper without lots of spelling and grammar errors <img src="wink.gif" border="0"> . .As for loans, the general consensus is that HSBC seem more user-friendly than the others. HSBC loans of £25k or more have been mentioned in these hallowed pages, without accompanying tales of inquisitions or outrageous terms. Give them a call....

we normally have our minds on higher ideas Scroggs such as transonic flows and millimetre band radars. Thanks on HSBC I'll given a call asap, any idea if it's secured or unsecured?

HSBC were very helpful and processed my loan application with minimum fuss. I was told that security is required if borrowing more than £15K.
