For those doing their South African comm subjects...

I've looked at self study notes for the 8 CPL exams: Avex (R 1650), Aeronav Academy (R 1550) and Flight Training College of SA notes (R 1800).

Just wondering if anyone would reccommend one over another? Or any other info about these, or other self study notes.

I'd be interested if anyone has current notes they want to sell.

Cheers.

I used a combination of Aeronav and FTC for my CPL; and Avex and FTC for my ATP exams.

Aeronav contain a lot of detail but can be very confusing.
Avex are nicely presented and give you 99% of what you need.
FTC typical exam questions were invaluable on both occasions.

If I had to do it again I would probably use a combination of Avex/FTC. Also it helps to get recent exam feedback questions, try 43 Air School, they have built up quite a nice database.

Good luck!

I fairly recently completed my subjects, and I'd have to agree with the above. Either Avex or Aeronav are good for self study but the FTC quetions are a must. There by far the closest to the actual exam. Aeromar ( Look it up on your search engine ) both notes and questions were excellent for Nav and Radio aids which were the only two I bought.
