This year we had the new 9-1 gcses (9 being the highest grade) and i got an 8(A*) in maths and a 5(C) in english. I also got an a* in physics (maths and english were the only new spec exams we did). Will the 9-1 grades be accepted? Its enough for me to do a level maths and physics. Would it put me in any disadvantage for applying to any flight school.

You don't NEED any GCSEs to get into flight school.

For the Oxford integrated programme (what it's clear the OP was on about) you need 5 GCSEs. You will 100% be fine with the new grades. Whilst the website hasn't been updated yet it will be soon I'm sure. To not do sowould mean in addition to having funding you also would have to have been born pre 2001 which would never happen.

GCSEs are stated as a guide, in the same way that people from abroad an apply with different qualifications. If it equals a C, it's acceptable.

He's not talking about flight school, he's going on about Oxford Aviation
