"the helicopter was maneuvering to land on the Gosaikunda helipad when its tail–rotor accidentally scrapped the surface causing a slight panic."

More than a slight panic, I'd guess!

Rest in Peace to the Blessed Engineer who just wanted to save Himself. Given the impact speed (walking pace) He should have stayed strapped in. Who knows what went through His mind at that moment, maybe He was worried about a post crash fire?

The Gossaikunda episode well a 'small panic' would've been a total brown-out for me (of the legs).....hmmm He came in too hot (fast) with a tail-wind & flared to low, to late; to drive the Tail into the ground...classis DP :{

The Badrinath epic had not 1 but 2 DP Pilots that never assessed the power required to escape thoroughly, proceeded to just pole forward upon picking up without bothering to look inside to check the margin available when clearly they had nothing left to go with & bingo another FU :yuk:
