Hello Everyone,

I have just began my ATPL theory and am self studying. I am wondering if anyone can give me an insight to what exams are the most difficult and will take the most time as what subjects if any, should be studied with a training provider?

I have the full set of AFT books that I will be studying. If anyone can give me an insight of what I am getting myself into it would be greatly appreciated!

Have you sat any of the other ones and if so do you have an opinion on those? Only reason I'm trying to get a better idea is because I wanted to just hammer them out with 1 or 2 weeks study per exam. I know for a few that won't be possible but getting them done as fast as I can is the goal.

Thanks.

Don't rush the exams just for the sake of it. If you scrape by you'll find it harder to get employment as a low hour cadet, as many airlines look for good passes in the ATPL exams.

Also, why not talk to the ATPL ground schools and ask for the reasoning behind their course structure? You'll often find they have a logical reason behind their thought process.

Yeah I might have a look into a few ground school and see how they sound. Thanks for the advice though, was much needed. Cheers.

Ive done them all.......

These are not to be rushed....So i say no for 1-2 weeks (if your working full time) (if you can dedicate 6-8 hours per day this is achievable)

Performance and Loading
Flight Planning
Navigation
Aerodynamics and Aircraft Systems

These are able to be done in 1-2 weeks

Meteorology
Air Law
Human Factors
